Naturally Sweet Pecan Pie

Looking for a healthy alternative to the traditional corn syrup pecan pie?  Try this naturally sweetened pecan pie recipe!  With heart healthy, immune boosting pecans combined with the natural sweetness of honey, this delicious pie is the perfect end to your Thanksgiving meal or any night's dessert!



1-  9-inch deep dish pie crust                   

3/4 cup honey (for medium sweetness - 1/2 cup for less sweet - 1 cup for super sweet)

3 large egg whites, whipped

2Tbsp light olive oil

1 cup Pearson Farm Natural Pecan Pieces

1 cup Pearson Farm Natural Pecan Halves (Elliot or Mammoth)

4 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 tsp ground cinnamon

3Tbsp whole wheat pastry flour



Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F.

Mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.

Pour pie batter into raw pie crust and bake for 10 minutes.  Reduce heat to 350 degrees F and continue to bake 20 to 25 minutes.  The pie will raise in the oven and have small cracks in the top when it's done

Remove from oven and allow to cool overnight.
