Rewarding Times at Pearson Farm

With April being National Pecan Month, there is quite a bit to celebrate at Pearson Farm.  In February, the Flavor of Georgia contest recognized Pearson Farm's cinnamon roasted pecans in the Snack Foods category in February, judging the product on flavor, texture, and ingredient profile. Then in March, the Georgia Pecan Growers Association chose Lawton Pearson of Pearson Farm as the 2016 Georgia Pecan Grower of the Year. The nominations were based on the individuals' contribution to making a difference in the industry and their years of service.Lawton places all the honor in the work of those on the farm and to the heritage started by his family stating, “There is no bigger honor than being recognized for something you love doing,” Pearson said. “Pecans have been a large part of my family for generations and to be recognized in both ways is humbling. I am so very proud to accept this award on behalf of my family and everyone who works with us at Pearson Farm”.Lawton is a partner and 5th generation owner of one of the oldest continually family owned peach and pecan farm in Georgia, Pearson Farm.  Lawton feels pride every time he walks on the land knowing he is harvesting on the same land as generations that preceded him. While Lawton appreciates the recognition of his community and peers, being part of the Pearson Farm legacy is ultimately the most rewarding.
