Our Whiddon In-Shell Pecans will begin shipping the week of November 9th.

Released by the University of Georgia in 2015, the Whiddon pecan originated from the cross of Pawnee and Desirable.  A new variety here at the farm, we have fallen in love with the large, golden kernels and delicate flavor of this pecan.  If you love the large nut and thin shell of Pawnee and Desirable, you will love the Whiddon!  

All of our In-Shell Pecans are USDA Grade U.S. Extra Fancy.  Please note that weather significantly affects our pecan crop.  Oil content is directly related to moisture totals, so a drier fall season will lead to less oil in pecans.

Pearson Farm guarantees that all of our in-shell pecans meet U.S. Extra Fancy standards as found in the U.S. Standards for Grades of Pecans in the Shell (Tolerances, §51.1406) put out by the USDA, and comply with international trade agreements. This means that you can expect less than 5% shell defects and less than 12% kernel defects, provided that not more than 6% shall be allowed for kernels which are seriously damaged.

Pecans kept at room temperature in a sealed air-tight container will last up to 3 months. Refrigerate your pecans to extend the freshness 6-9 months. When frozen in an air-tight container, pecans can last up to 2 years. Pecans can be thawed and re-frozen multiple times. Store alone. Pecans have a high oil content and have a tendency to absorb odors when stored with other items.

Agricultural regulations prevent the shipping of in-shell pecans to California and Arizona.

Pecan orders are typically processed and shipped the day they are received, with the exception of weekends and holidays. During peak seasons, order processing may take longer. We ship via UPS Monday through Friday with the exception of US holidays.

Recently, I ordered five 5 pound bags of 'in-shell' pecans. I gave one bag to a family member, and kept the other four bags for our home. The pecans were (I say 'were' because most are already gone) simply tastefully good!!! I'd like to have more!

We're very happy!

We have ordered in-shell pecans from Pearson Farm for several years and have never been disappointed. We've tried the Elliot, Desirable and one or two others, but this is the first time we've tried the Whiddon. They're delicious!! They're easy to crack and the "meat" comes out whole (for the most part). We are very happy with our order and we'll be ordering again. Thanks for a quality product!

Blaze, the black squirrel, known for his quickness in burying every nut that came into his hands, was shocked to find he could not bring himself to bury the Whiddon Nut he recently received by the human. He stayed on the porch, held in her paws and proceeded to break it open with her powerful teeth. Other squirrels just watched, as this was a first, Blaze buried all her nuts in the churchyard until receiving the Whiddon. Afterwards, all the other squirrels quickly lined up at the door for their chance to eat the coveted Whiddon.
