Drop Pecan Cookies


  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup chopped Georgia pecans from Pearson Farm
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 16-18 pecan halves



Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, chopped pecans and lemon juice. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Add alternately with milk and egg mixture. Mix well and drop teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Press flat and place pecan on each. Bake 10-15 minutes. Makes about 18.
